COVID 19 Response
April 24th, 2020
There is evidence that ENT surgeons and nurses have a higher risk of getting COVID 19 when they examine or operate on the oral or nasal cavity. They also have a higher risk of dying from COVID 19.
Patients have a higher risk of getting COVID 19 when they come into contact with other people, especially in hospitals and clinic waiting rooms.
There have been no known COVID 19 cases associated with my clinic, but I am making changes as a proactive step to reduce the risk of transmission of the SARS CoV 2 virus and to keep my staff safe.
For your health and safety and the safety of my staff and other patients, I ask that you DO NOT visit my clinic if you are experiencing ANY of these symptoms:
- Sore throat
- Shortness of breath
OR if you have had close contact with someone diagnosed with or suspected of having COVID 19 in the last 14 days.
Clinic appointment times will be limited to less than 15 minutes where possible to reduce the risk of asymptomatic transmission of SARS CoV2. Appointment times will be structured to ensure the waiting room accommodates social distancing requirements. Please limit non essential attendance among support people. Furthermore, we ask that you try to refrain from bringing handbags, newspapers or other non essential items that may also promote carriage of the SARS CoV2 virus. Telehealth appointments are also available.
The recent success in ‘flattening the curve’ has enabled the return of some elective surgery. You can contact the clinic on (03) 5271 7630 or firstname.lastname@example.org to discuss further how this might apply to your booking.
